ROLE AND FACILITY INFORMATION

The Island Health Department of Medical Imaging is seeking a full time General Radiologist for the North Island hospitals Comox Valley and Campbell River.

These facilities opened in the fall of 2017 and medical Imaging services at both hospitals include: general x-ray, two fixed MRI, on-site CT, fluoroscopy, mammography, ultrasound and interventional procedures, all within a fully functional PACS environment. Additionally, at the Comox Valley Hospital, there is nuclear medicine service.

Eligible candidates must hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Radiology and full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.

The position includes CT, MRI, US, DR, Fluoroscopy procedures, breast imaging, and basic non-vascular interventional procedures. The successful candidate may elect to reside in either Campbell River or Comox.

About the Practice:
The practice is fully staffed at a capacity of 12 full-time equivalent (FTE) positions. Full-time work is defined as 35 weeks with 17 weeks of vacation. The group operates on a hospital-only basis, with no ownership of clinics, thus requiring no buy-in. Competitive per diem, distributed via pooled billing with no associate pay. We offer flexible scheduling and remote work options.

The Comox Valley Airport offers daily non-stop flights to/from Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver, plus seasonal service to Mexico. Campbell River has a municipal airport with regular daily flights between Vancouver and the island.

Annual Flat fee – $7, 010.46

Rural CME starting at $3,000/annum in years 3 & 4 increasing to a maximum of $6,000/annum after 4 years.
