BCRS Gold Medal Award

The BCRS Gold Medal Award is presented to a long-time member of the BCRS who has made outstanding contributions to the Association as well as to the profession of Radiology in British Columbia.  Key contributions include, clinical practice, leadership and teaching and research (if applicable).

Eligibility 

The BCRS Gold Medal Award nominee must be a member of the BCRS. A nominee for the BCRS Gold Medal Award must have been a BCRS member in good standing continuously over the past 10 years.

Nomination Process 

A nomination may be submitted by any BCRS member, including a self-nomination. Please have the following documentation ready to submit; nominee information including email address, CV or summary of the nominee, key contributions of the nominee and two (2) support letters for the nominee from BCRS members in good standing.

Submission Deadline 

The award nomination must be received annually. The deadline for 2024 Gold Medal Award is Monday, March 31, 2024. An individual member may nominate or sponsor only one person each year.

Selection

A BCRS Awards Selection Standing Committee will evaluate the award nominations. The committee will include the BCRS Past-President, BCRS President, BCRS EDI Representative, and the BCRS President-Elect.

If unsuccessful the first year, the nomination may be reactivated by any BCRS member in good standing for consideration for a maximum of two (2) years following the first submission. This can be done by submitting an email to [email protected] requesting reactivation by March 31 of the award year. This reactivation does not require any new supporting data.

Presentation of the BCRS Gold Medal Award

The award will be given out at the Spring General Meeting that takes place in Vancouver on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
